Unloading Lehigh Valley #95100 - Timelapse Video
Rescued from a scrap yard, ex-Lehigh Valley Railroad caboose #95100 is unloaded at the Rochester & Genesee Valley Railroad Museum. The R&GVRRM plans to restore the #95100 back to service on the museum's demonstration railroad, and this was the first step of getting the caboose out of the scrap yard, back to the museum, and placed back on its trucks on active rail. The museum succeeded as seen here in this timelapse video of the caboose being unloaded. Next up will be a move of the caboose to the R&GVRRM's restoration shop where work will start in earnest over the winter. Donations are welcome to help with the restoration.

Thanks! There are many people with the? R&GVRRM and beyond that contributed to saving the #95100. We had donors from all over give money to help us buy the car. Now we hope others will step up with donations to allow us to restore the car. We plan to work very hard to get the car restored!

We were glad? to be able to save it and now the hard work of restoring it starts. We have actually had a matching caboose and locomotive for some time. The same engine that now matches our Lehigh Valley caboose, LV #211, was actually born as a Pennsylvania Railroad engine. We do own a PRR N-5C caboose that is waiting its turn at the shop. The LV will be first.
